Voices from the Song of Songs

Judy Chicago worked with Graphicstudio at the University of South Florida to create Voices from the Song of Songs, a portfolio of six images and six text pages. Chicago works with Marcia Falk’s new translation of the ancient biblical text, which accentuates its human and erotic quality including the mutual nature of desire. The paired pages present Chicago's interpretation on one side and the English and Hebrew translations on the other. "(Voices from the Song of Songs) is a print series of stunning but carefully concealed virtuosity, which is accessible in a fashion which few contemporary artists are able to achieve.
